This Privacy Policy explains how The 11th Question, operated by Early Birds NY (“we,” “us,” or “the Operator”), handles information when you visit or play the game.
Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account or sign in with Google, we may receive and store your account identifier, email address, display name, authentication provider and chosen public nickname.
Gameplay information
We may store scores, categories, difficulty levels, progress, achievements, help usage and leaderboard entries. Live Duel also uses player names, room codes, readiness state, game configuration and results to synchronize two devices.
Device storage
The game stores preferences and gameplay history on your device, including sound settings, input mode, category progress and recently used questions. Session storage remembers temporary choices during the current browser session.
Voice input
Voice mode requests access to your microphone. Speech recognition is supplied by your browser, operating system or its speech-service provider. The game uses the recognized text to evaluate an answer and does not intentionally record or store raw microphone audio. The speech provider may process voice data under its own privacy terms.
Technical information
Our hosting and service providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, error data and security logs.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, gameplay, saved progress, leaderboards and Live Duel.
- Remember settings and avoid repeating the same questions too frequently.
- Protect the game, prevent abuse and investigate technical problems.
- Improve performance, accessibility and game balance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase for authentication, database functions and synchronized game features. With your permission, Google Analytics for Firebase processes usage information to help us understand and improve the game. Google Sign-In is optional. Voice recognition may be handled by Google, Apple, Microsoft or another provider selected by your browser or device. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Public information
Your chosen nickname and qualifying scores may appear publicly on leaderboards. Do not use a nickname containing your full name, contact details or other sensitive information.
Legal bases
Where applicable, we process information to provide the service you request, based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the game, with your consent where required, and to meet legal obligations.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and gameplay records only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. You may request account or personal-data deletion by contacting us. Some information may be retained where required for security, dispute resolution or legal compliance.
Your choices and rights
You can play as a guest, choose whether to use the microphone, change local preferences, or log out. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to certain processing.
Children
The game is not directed to children under 13. Players who have not reached the minimum digital-consent age in their location should use the service only with authorization from a parent or guardian.
Advertising
The current version does not use personalized advertising. If advertising is introduced, we will update this Policy and provide any consent or privacy controls required by applicable law before using advertising identifiers or personalized ads.
International processing
Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
